  • ICHEP 2016

    3, 10 de agosto de 2016Chicago, USA

ICHEP is a focal point of the field of particle physics, brining together experimentalists and theorists of the world. It was first held in 1950, and is biennial since 1960. At ICHEP physicists from around the world gather to share the latest advancements in particle physics, astrophysics/cosmology, and accelerator science and to discuss plans for major future facilities. ICHEP 2016 will feature plenary rapporteur talks covering topics that span the full spectrum of research within the field. Parallel sessions and a poster session will provide an opportunity for younger scientists to present their work.

  • DARK MATTER 2016

27 de junio y 1 de julio de 2016Santander, Spain

Dark Matter 2016: From the smallest to the largest scales. A meeting that brings together particle physicist, astrophysicists, cosmologists and theoretician to discuss the latest developments on the quest for dark matter. The meeting will bring together experts on direct and indirect searches of dark matter and the connection between theory and experiments. Many experiments on earth, together with astrophysical observations, cover a wide range of energies yet the dark matter particle remains elusive. The meeting will review the current status in the field giving special emphasis to the latest efforts to detect the dark matter.

    VII Jornadas CPAN

  • IV Postgradute Meeting on Theoretical Physics

    18, 20 de noviembre de 2015IFT, UAM/CSIC (Madrid)

This year’s meeting will be the fourth in the series of encounters organized every year at different Spanish institutions since 2012. The first edition took place at University of Barcelona, while successful sequels were celebrated at IFT and Santiago de Compostela University in 2013 and 2014 respectively. The spirit of this fourth meeting remains faithful to the previous editions. Our aim is to allow theoretical physics-oriented (in a relatively broad sense) PhD students and young postdocs from European institutions to explain their research projects in an informal environment and to establish collaborations and/or bonds among them. We encourage young researchers to participate (contributing with a talk/poster or not). The speakers will be selected from the participants themselves. We expect the talks to cover a wide range of topics in modern theoretical physics. This includes but is not restricted to: Particle Physics, (Classical and Quantum) Gravity Theories, String Theory, AdS/CFT, Quantum Information, Condensed Matter Theory, Cosmology, Astrophysics, Lattice Gauge Theories, etc.

  • International Conference on Accelerator Optimization

7, 9 de octubre de 2015Centro Nacional de Aceleradores - CNA lecture hall

The oPAC consortium is organizing a 3-day International Conference on Accelerator Optimization in Seville, Spain from 7th to 9th October 2015. The conference will be hosted by oPAC partner University of Seville/Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA). This International Conference will be an ideal place to present and discuss research advances in beam dynamics, accelerator diagnostics and advanced simulation tools. It will feature talks about the research outcomes from oPAC by fellows and research leaders from across the world. It will also present the opportunity for 15-minute long contributed talks and posters and to discuss future R&D activities in this multi-disciplinary field. Following a peer-review process selected proceedings will be published in a special edition of Physical Review STAB.

Taller de Altas Energías (TAE 2015)

20 de septiembre y 2 de octubre de 2015Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual

The Taller de Altas Energías (TAE) is a yearly school aimed at completing the education of first and second year graduated students who are starting their research on experimental or theoretical High Energy Physics, Astroparticles and Cosmology. The program of the TAE School combines courses and individual work supervised by tutors. Lectures will be delivered in the mornings, whereas Tutorials and Special Talks on selected topics will be reserved for the afternoons. Students will work through the solutions of problems proposed by lecturers with the help of tutors. All students are also encouraged to present and discuss their work during specific sessions (Student Seminars).

Re-writing Nuclear Physics textbooks: 30 years of radioactive ion beam physics

    20, 24 de julio de 2015Pisa, Italy

The scope of the activity is twofold. First we will celebrate 30 years since the first genuine work on radioactive ion beams (RIBs) used to study properties of atomic nuclei. Since then Low Energy Nuclear Physics research fed by experiments at various facilities all over the world has experienced a great revival supported by widespread theoretical efforts which have changed deeply our understanding of nuclei and their interactions. The second scope of the event is to attract and educate the best possible students introducing them to the wonders of Physics with RIBs. We shall try to convey to such students a view of the rich variety of on-going activities in the field, both experimental and theoretical such that the progresses we have made in the last 30 years can be developed further in the future.
